Hey, Nate!

Wanted you to know I really appreciated the tour of the New Orleans "jail district" that you gave me when I visited New Orleans.  As a writer - working diligently on the sequel to After the Storm, it is really helpful to see those places where you've been.  The scenes come to life for me as I look at those buildings and imagine the conversations, the separations, the agonies that those walls have seen and heard.  It is such a joy to hear you say, "I don't live my life that way anymore."  That sounds so simple - just change the way that one lives his life.  Do you remember my asking you long ago why this time was different?  You said that this time you were depending on God, giving Him control of your life.  As we saw those buildings that held thousands of incarcerated men and women, I felt the sting of tears with the recognition that all that is required to change the way one lives is to turn it over to Him.  Then His amazing Love does the rest . . . and, later,  to be there with you when you did Step 9 work with someone you felt you had treated badly during your days of active addicition.  That was amazing too!   As you and I have discussed before, making amends is not just saying,"I am sorry,"  it is making changes that prove one truly regrets past actions.  I hope I am a good steward of these things you share with me, Nate. As you and I have discussed so many times, with each other and with Moses, our third business partner - we want the telling of the stories in After the Storm and its sequel, Into the Fog, to be a distributor of Hope, the Hope that is present for anyone who is suffering, whether it's addiction, or other pains of living.  God gives us all the Hope that is his Son.  That is our message, right, Nate?

The Lord is real and this is just one more way to show others that he can live threw all of us. God bless you and yours and continue to spread the word and work of God. May other be as touched as I was to learn that if you just let him in he will guide you to riches and wonderment in his light
